The R1 1000 has 28 1 W resistors connected in series which can be activated individually with sliding switches The stepping of the resistance values in 1 2 3 4 levels allows for a gapless adjustment of the resistance value in 7 decades 1 Ω to 1111111 MΩ The adjustment of eg 156 kΩ is done by selecting the following switches 100 k 40 kΩ 10 k 4 kΩ 2 k ohms The connection is made over 4 mm safety sockets
